The project begins with a collection of discarded printers discovered in an office in central Athens that had been temporarily offered as a studio by Yiannis Schinas, former Rector and professor of international law. Instead of treating the printers as electronic waste, the project considers them as dormant structures that can be reactivated through biological processes.

The printers were transferred to the Centre for Non-Machines Research in Athens, where they were transformed into planters by filling their interiors with soil and planting potatoes. Their original technological function was thus replaced by a biological one: machines designed to produce and reproduce information became containers for cultivation and growth.

The project uses these transformed objects to explore the relationship between technological obsolescence, biological growth and material transformation. It asks what happens when obsolete machines are no longer understood as waste but become environments for living processes.

The potato, which has been part of the artistic practice since Ode to Potato (2014), returns here as a material and conceptual link between cultivation, technological waste and ecological transformation. In this context, the potato becomes not only a cultivated organism but also an agent through which the boundaries between machine, organism and environment are reconsidered.
